The Madras University admission process for a majority of courses is similar with only a few courses being offered through entrance exam performance while others are offered on the basis of merit. Aspirants are required to register for their preferred courses offered by the university through the official website and take part in the University of Madras admission process for the same. However, for courses like MBA and MCA, candidates must appear for the TANCET exam and qualify for the same. After qualifying for the entrance examination, admission to MBA/MCA courses will be offered through the TANCET counselling. The university conducts its own entrance exam for courses such as M.Com, M.Sc, and MA. The university admissions generally begin in the month of July.
